How to master a Suno or Udio track
Start with the best-quality export you have. Listen to the original first, then try Balanced on a busy chorus and a quieter verse. Compare Before and After for vocal clarity, bass balance and drum impact. Open the tool icon only when you know what you want to change.
Already sounds dense and loud? Ease off the output drive instead of pushing it harder.
TONE
Tame harshness without losing the sparkle
If the top end feels sharp throughout the song, try reducing the high shelf. If only certain vocal sounds or cymbal hits jump out, use dynamic EQ to reduce that frequency range when it crosses the threshold. Listen for a smoother sound without dulling the vocal.
Metallic or warbling generation artifacts may need a new source export; extra EQ cannot reliably repair them.
BALANCE
Give the bass weight without the mud
Compare the kick, bass and vocal together. If the low end masks the vocal, reduce the bass boost or gently lower the low-mid EQ. Use multiband compression when bass notes are uneven rather than permanently turning the entire bass range down.
Check the loudest section as well as the intro. A setting that flatters one section may overwhelm another.
LISTENING
Compare your master fairly
A louder version can feel better at first. In the advanced tools, enable Match playback level and switch between Before and After. Listen for changes in tone, punch and space. Turn on Mono monitor to check whether important parts become noticeably weaker.
Level matching and mono monitoring change what you hear while comparing, not the downloaded master.

You do not need to open every control. Choose the amount of help your song needs.

MP3 · Share it easily
A compressed, smaller download for sending to friends or uploading for feedback. MP3 is the default export option. Keep a WAV copy too if you plan to do more work on the track.
WAV · Keep a full-quality copy
An uncompressed download for keeping your master or delivering it where WAV is requested. It takes more space. Converting an MP3 source to WAV does not recover lost detail.

Is the mastering studio free, and do I need an account?
Preview and tweak all six free and three premium presets without signing up. Free presets can be downloaded at no charge. Premium downloads require payment; premium downloads are coming soon. Custom presets are saved in this browser.
Can I master AI music made with Suno or Udio?
Yes. Use an audio file exported from your music tool. The studio processes the finished mix, so it also works with recorded and produced music. It does not need access to your Suno or Udio account.
Does Grumpy Music automatically decide the settings for my song?
The studio gives you presets and hands-on controls. You choose the sound and adjust it while listening. It is a mastering tool for AI-generated music; the presets are not an AI diagnosis of your individual track.
What can mastering improve—and what can it not fix?
EQ, dynamic EQ, multiband compression, stereo width and limiting can shape tonal balance, dynamics, space and level. They cannot reliably repair distorted source audio, incorrect lyrics or generation artifacts, or independently rebalance a vocal inside a finished stereo mix.
Which preset should I start with?
Start with Balanced, then compare a contrasting sound. Try Velvet Warmth for a warmer direction, Pop Shine for brightness, Rock Punch for impact, Club Weight for weight or Open Acoustic for a more open feel. These are starting points, not genre rules; the source track determines the result.
Does my audio leave my device?
Audio processing for mastering happens in your browser; selecting a file for mastering does not upload it. Submitting a track for a review or sharing it with the community is a separate action. Account preset saving stores your settings.
Can I download both an MP3 and a WAV?
Free presets can be exported as MP3 or WAV. MP3 is the first option and gives you a smaller file for sharing. Premium exports require payment, premium downloads are coming soon.
Will exporting an MP3 as WAV improve its quality?
No. WAV avoids another lossy encoding step, but it cannot restore detail already removed from the source MP3. Start with a lossless source when one is available.
Why does my master sound quieter—or less punchy?
The limiter may be reducing strong peaks, or the preset may reduce frequencies that made the original sound louder. Try less output drive, gentler compression and a different preset. Use level-matched comparison to judge the tone and impact separately from volume.
Does a wider master always sound better?
No. Width changes the balance between the centre and sides of a stereo mix. Check the vocal, kick and bass in mono as well as stereo, and reduce width if important parts lose too much presence. A wide sound alone does not prove that a mix has a phase problem.
